How often do people update their blogs? The histogram on the left is based on two weeks of watching weblogs.com to see whether a blog had been updated. If the blog was not part of the list, it was added, but if it was, the “last updated” time was updated. So, this is hardly definitive, since we would have to base it on a sample collected over a much longer period of time, but it is interesting to see that folks tend to keep their blogs–at least those pinging weblogs over two weeks–pretty much up to date. Each bar on the graph is 12 hours, and it represents about 22,000 blogs.
No, I don’t have a lot of time on my hands. I just had collected this as part of a larger system (more later!)–and to help Kara’s project–and was curious as to the update frequency.
