The idea of Friday Fives is perhaps not that new–something like them has rotated through offices on a regular basis. It’s basically a way of reporting performance. Like other performance and benchmarkingmeasures, it provides a metric that tracks how well an organization is meeting its objectives, and like many metrics, its mere existence has an effect on that system. Does putting them on-line make a difference?
(I started this entry with a particular article in mind, one that discussed the use of web-based employee monitoring systems. Now I’ve lost the link. Hm. I’ll come back to this…)
