This week we will be taking a look at an early attempt at “open source journalism” and reading a bit from Dan Gillmor’s new book: We the Media. (Note that one of the reasons we can do this is that Mr. Gillmor, and his publisher, O’Reilly, have released the book under a creative commons license, something we will be talking about later in the semester.)
I’ll have a lecture-post up shortly, related to the role of blogging in journalism, but for now, you should read these and write up your own reactions. I’ll be watching for them!
