My poetry career

When I was a grad student, I entered the Poetry Bus Competition. I wrote a short poem on the way to school on the bus. This was not easy, since I tend toward motion sickness on busses. I was just cleaning out part of my hard drive and found it:

Lost, perhaps, but for the driver’s steady hand
that lives as much as knows the route;
Alone, perhaps, but for those at my side
who gaze at the sliding world;
Asleep, perhaps, hoping to awake
at the final destination.

Always good to know what skills you do not have :).
