I have a navigation system on my new car, with the voice cues and everything. Not something that was high on my list of necessities, but I am now fairly dependent on it. All to say that I am not in the market for a car navigation system. If I was, it would be a Tom Tom. Why? Two words: Eddie Izzard. They say they are going to support other systems in future, but I doubt it will come to my factory VW system, which is integrated with–as my partner noted yesterday–the only stereo I now own. (With a Toshiba head and Dynaudio speakers/amp, it’s also probably the best stereo I’ve ever owned.)
