Toward the Lifelog

Thomas Burg picked up on my recent quote from Eco and links to another model for lifelogging of sorts, Buckminster Fuller’s Chronofile.

Coincidentally, I have been wrestling with managing my citations and my calendar, when I read Phil Wolff’s very intriguing post on semantic weblogging, complete with a link to HP’s page for research on Semantic Blogging for Bibliography Management. Meanwhile, having gotten bad news about my health, I’ve set up a blog (still semi-private) to track information and data about my health.

All of this is coming together as an increasingly exciting avenue for research, one that brings together a wide range of my interests (scholarly communication, data mining, wearable computing/memex, hyperlink analysis, collective action) in one neat bundle. And the blog becomes the unlikely catalyst for a knowledge convergence device.

I wouldn’t have been pushed in the direction of that bundle if not for the postings of other, which is a kind of indication in itself of how these kinds of connections might be helpful. Or maybe I just need more sleep…
