Spamblog porn

Wherever there is a new medium, and I think weblogs qualify, there is pornography. Sure, the nature of that pornography differs. I think it is fair to consider The Reverse Cowgirl pornographic (I am not using the term in an insulting way, i.e., as somehow set apart from erotic), and there are several other blogs in this vein.

But what happens when the porn industry moves like a steamroller into blogs. As the number of bloggers increases, it is an unavoidable target for the industry. What happens when the “Goldbloggers” are the norm rather than the exception? What happens when this takes up half weblogs.com?

Now is the time I get to be defensive: I didn’t go out looking for “lustyphonegirls,” it just popped up, so to speak, on weblogs.com. Any illusion that this is more than advertising is quickly destroyed after checking out a few entries. Right now, this is an anomaly, but I suspect, along with comment-spam, that this could eventually have a serious negative impact on the blogging world.
