Next fall’s class

For some reason, I volunteered to make the MITIA class a joint grad/undergrad class. I may be biting off more than I can chew. We’ll see.

COM 634: Media in the Information Age

The real revolution in information and communication technologies (ICTs) is only beginning. In the next decade, as devices in our everyday lives publish and read information from a global network, our entire existence will become so media saturated that the concept of a “medium” may itself become meaningless. This course is a unique attempt to learn more about the world of convergence, in a very “hands-on” way. The course will be organized around the creation of an online magazine covering some aspect of the information society. Within this start-up enterprise, students will be assigned to positions of varying responsibility and work to create and market a finished product by the end of the semester.

Unfortunately, I also just found out that they have me scheduled for 3 times a week, from 1 to 2. Um… I don’t think so!
