New Journal
December 7th, 1997I finished off my last journal a couple of months ago, but I didn’t have the time or impetus to try to find a new one. This one was a gift from Jamie, who had purchased it for herself earlier in the year, but never had a chance to write in it.
I’m extremely busy, so I will only do a short entry while I’m getting the computer set up. I have finals for all four of my classes coming up in the next week and I haven’t even thought about two of the papers I need to finish.
Yesterday I took the LSAT and pretty much flubbed it. That kills law school admissions for next year. I did very well on most of the test, but messed up on the logical reasoning part pretty badly. I didn’t manage to even complete it. I’ve estimated that my score will likely be in the high 160s—not nearly good enough to get into a decent law school, given my undergraduate performance.
Jamie got passed over for the manager position (politics), but she won a new couch because she sold so many of them. We’ve been doing a major re-org of the house to try to make space for it, and try to make more space in general. We moved the bed against the wall and moved two bookcases into the bedroom. We then got some utility shelves for the closet by the bathroom and compacted that area enough to move our clothes from the bedroom out there. The next move is to put my desk and computer into the bedroom.
We’re also going to do something about a Christmas tree in the next few days. We already went out and bought (too many) ornaments, so we’re going to need to do it pretty quick.
Finally, I still haven’t signed up for next quarter’s classes or gotten a proposal to John Bowes. I’ll have to work on that and the conference, if I get the time.
