Coates has a post up about tracking livejournal moods. I suspect a lot of people have been thinking about this lately. I’m always a little reluctant to post about work at its earliest stages, but before the summer is out, I hope to have a “mood map” running and be able to compare regional attitudes to other indicators. The data produced will be open for others to use, of course.
I also have some possibilities for expanding on this that I will remain slightly mum about. Nothing earth-shattering, of course (mostly follow logically from the above), but I need to try to get a little ahead of the curve here…
