It’s always hard to tell how much students bring away from a discussion, but I was pretty happy with our attempt to dissect the first chapter of Jacques Ellul’s Propaganda. I was impressed by the way the discussion leaders guided the questions (as I was last week!), and the participants really seemed to have thought about the contents. Almost everyone in the class contributed something significant to the discussion. As I’ve mentioned to the rest of the faculty, we seem to have lucked out on the quality of our grad students this year. Now, if I can just try to get more of them interested in my research areas :).
Good Seminar
