I often like to check out writing in fields entirely unlike my own to see what I could be doing instead; e.g., “A novel application of speckle interferometry for the measurement of strain distributions in semi-sweet biscuits.”

    It’s a bit of an inside joke. The picture of me eating a biscuit that serves as my splash page on my website got spread around a bit at a web forum which Fabio and I frequent (it became known as the “biscuit pic.” I will occasionally put up a random post about biscuits as part of a running joke. I have since become known as a “biscuit connoisseur.”
