Art gallery frequenters

Sorting through some of my old papers from when I was a graduate student, I find an exercise one of our professors (John Bowes) had us do, sorting through some of the General Social Survey. The following sentence leaps out from my analysis:

Those who visit art galleries, when compared to those who don’t, are: richer, hornier, more exciting, less likely to vote or listen to classical music, watch less TV and are equally willing to subject themselves to heavy metal music.

Clearly, I should be visiting more art galleries.

Should you be visiting more art galleries in order to become more like those people, or are you like those people (richer, hornier, etc) already and so just need to increase you art gallery visiting quotient to fit in with them?

All I know is those correlations must say something about causation. Right? Isn’t that how it works? :)
