This sounds like something from a frightening fairy tale: Korea’s ‘lucky’ triplets seized. If this were a novel or film, I would complain that the “bad guys” were caricatures, but with Hussein, bin Laden, and Kim Jong-il, news is increasingly difficult to discern from larger-than-life fiction. Saddam idolizes Stalin, but comes off as a real-life Goldfinger, as at least one columnist has noted. Not to be outdone, Mugabe recently embraced the violence he has allowed, saying “let me be a Hitler tenfold.” What is wrong with the world?
