A short run of “Much Ado”

When living in Japan, I wanted to stage a showing of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in the woods surrounding Saijoji. Never came to fruition, but it may have been one of those ideas that was more entertaining to think about than to execute. Anyway, leave it to New Yorkers to top this, by combining the Bard with urban adventure racing. Shakespeare on the Run gives the audience 5-7 minutes of “Much Ado About Nothing” before expecting everyone to pick up and run to the next set. The exact opposite of couch potatoism: live theater with exercise. What’s next? Operatic spinning classes? A synthesis of Butoh and “Le Parkour“?

(The latter reminds me that I need to see Yamakasi. Anyone know where I can rent it? Netflix doesn’t have it. Blockbuster lists it, but has no way to get it :). There are some smaller outfits, but I want to rent it cheap. While there are, ahem, other options, I don’t want that much hassle. Ideas? )

Sam: Cool. Let me know if it lives up to its promise. It looks like it could be a really fun time or a pain in the butt.
